I am excited to find others who begin to show a need for connection. Others who understand that something more important than day-to-day business is going on. Not that there is anything wrong with day-to-day business, it is just that our daily business is driving us into the ground. Underground. We are too distracted by the running of things to notice something beautiful at the end of each breath way take. That pause just before you take another breath is the space where everything meets. It's when all business stops and nothing happens. It's brief but it is everything.
I get excited when others relate to this. When hearts leap at the chance to share this moment. So many feel torn in half by the life they lead and the life they want. The happiness that arrives teases us for only a moment before disappearing back into despair. There is a collective silence on the subject. To suggest that this could be a universal experience is to recognise suffering. Our daily business is the only thing that allows us to separate ourselves from one another.
So much has been written on love and so little is practiced, understood or given. Our world is who we are and that is now turning in on itself. We are staring back at our own emptiness. We are staring at a world in conflict and pain. Getting busier is our way of keeping ahead of this mess. Pushing on with empty ideals and thoughts.
We are distressed and starting to look into each other’s eyes. People are catching a glimpse of lost souls. The gig is up and the plug has been pulled. Divine intervention is here at last and all we have to do is breathe. Let out your breath and notice that moment when everything stops just before you inhale again. That is who you are and that is where you come from and that is where you shall return.
